‘Share Good Times not Flu’ is the message we are helping to communicate in schools on behalf of AstraZeneca, makers of the nasal spray flu vaccine used in the national immunisation programme. Whilst the concept of flu vaccination is not new, a nasal spray, administered to children, in school may be a novel concept for staff and many pupils. The proactive campaign supports and complements public health messaging about the UK flu vaccination programme amongst school staff, parents and the wider community.
The free resources, including film and animated footage together with template literature, are designed to support teachers in helping pupils understand more about the flu vaccine and how it can help stop the spread of flu and to support school managers to liaise with immunisation teams so that the process runs as smoothly as possible. Share Good Times not Flu… In School has been reviewed and endorsed by the Personal Social and Health Education Association (PSHE) and is supported by the School and Public Health Nurse Association (SAPHNA).
