The Big Money Movie Pitch is a brand new, high-profile, free, national schools competition just launched on behalf of Nationwide Building Society. Students aged 11 to 14 are invited to create a pitch for a two-minute short film or animation on the topic of managing money – a film for young people, by young people.
The winning pitch will then be produced by industry professionals into a real short film, and shown at an exclusive premiere at Vue Westfield London in July. Among a whole host of benefits to the winning school, the awards include 120 places at the red-carpet screening and 50 places each for two highly-commended schools, as well as the winners’ choice of current blockbuster to enjoy following their film. The final film will go on to educate young people on managing their money via many other channels over the following 12 months.
As part of its citizenship work, Nationwide Building Society started its award-winning website Nationwide Education in 2007. Since then, it’s gone on to become one of the biggest online education portals in the UK, attracting over 50 million hits and downloads. The newly developed website is all about supporting young people to reach their full potential by developing key lifeskills in fun and engaging ways, with a wealth of supporting guidance for teachers and parents.
